Art Avenue - Help

Help - Searching

Searching for art or artists featured on Art Avenue is simple. To begin your search, click on Art or Artists.

Next, click on the keywords text box and type in 1 to 5 keywords. Each keyword is separated by a space. Case does not matter. You can also type in part of a keyword, such as "ott" for Ottawa, or "photo" for photography.

If you are searching for artists, you can use the following keywords:

First name
Last name
Title
City
Province

If you are searching for art, use these keywords:

Title of art
Category
Media
Style
Mood
Tools
Subject matter
The year the art was created
Colours

Finally, to begin the search, click on the Search button. You will see a listing of art or artists that contain the keywords in your search (if any). Click on the artist or art title in the list for more details.

If your search results include many matches, there may be a Next and Previous button at the bottom of the page. Clicking on these buttons allow you to go back and forth through the search results. You can change the number of search results per page in Settings.

You may notice that the search results are in alphabetical order but may not start with the letter A. We rotate the alphabet every day to give everyone a chance to get listed at the top.

To start another search, simply click on Art or Artists.
